I feel guilty buying the Wii fit rashly. They're hard to get right now, so I jumped at the chance, but I don't think I actually want it, so I think I'm going to return it. But I feel like I ruined someone else's Christmas, someone else who really wanted a fit won't get one now.

Though, on the other hand, if not getting a fit ruins your Christmas, there might be something lacking in your character.

But I still feel guilty.

Don't feel guilty. You didn't cause the shortage.

Could you sell it for the amount you paid for it on craiglist and *make* someone's Christmas who thought they wouldn't be able to find a fit, instead of returning it?

Well that's why I asked my friends list. For a social phobe craigslist is very daunting. Having a strange person come over to your house.
There are many times I would have liked to use it, but get stopped by the idea that you know nothing about the people.

I'm kind of curious about the Wii fit but I probably don't need more stuff. I also never bothered to figure out what it actually is, other than "something people seem to be excited about".

You can play the new Rayman game with the board. Might not be totally wasted...

I've been thinking about maybe getting myself a Wii and Fit, but it's probably best if I wait a week before making a final decision.

Did you find a friend who wanted it? I might be interested.

No one has expressed an interest yet. Let me know if your might resolves to a definately.

Or perhaps I'll broker with Megan, since you aren't sure. I'm going to tell them the price and see what happens. I'll let you know.

If someone else is psyched to have it, then I'm for making their Christmas :) I assume that I'd put it to use if I had it, but I've not been motivated to go out and get one. I don't even know what it costs :) I should probably use my money to get a PS3 and Rock Band, if I want to be motivated to get something.

Maybe eBay

If you return it, the store probably will set it aside, or send it back to the factory rather than make it an open-box sale, so the best way to ensure someone can have it for Christmas is a fast eBay auction with a Buy-It-Now and 2 day shipping. Alas, finding a real UPS shipper isn't that easy.
I hope you find someone nearby who you know.
Have you thought to place it on the MIT boards?

If I had a Wii, I would want it. I was thinking just tonight that it seemed more convenient than the DDR pads, though from watching the ad I could not see what measurement the Wii got from the platform. It looked like two pressure pads or two tilt pads or a hybrid of both.

I think the feet of the board are 4 pressure pads. Is that the same as one tilt pad?

(So it's real easy to clean, too!)

Belatedly, and for the record, the Wii Fit board has 4 weight sensors. Basically it's a multiplex bathroom scale, and uses distribution of weight to each sensor to detect body movement.

I have friends that definitely want to buy it from you, and I will be happy to handle the transaction for you.
