So Vista seems to not play well with WoW. It stammers in a way that makes me sick. Since the whole reason to get a new computer was to play WoW because the laptop went sizzle (which they can't get the part from fujitsu... grrr.) Anyway, we tried the best we could to shutdown all the background crap, including all the annoying security things, which when you shut off anything it's suddently "a problem."

Anyway, I iddn't want Vista in the first place. A smilar, but inferior machine running XP runs WoW better than vista. So have a days worth of fighting I'm installing it with one of my old copies of XP from one of my dead laptops, only you can't use laptop install disks, so we scrounded and found one and now I'm installing it, but I've spent all day fighting with this blasted machine.

Wish me luck.

Maybe I should take a vow of anti-technology.

[livejournal.com profile] freakydimension was similarly unimpressed with warcraft running under Vista. He solved the problem by throwing HUGE amounts of RAM at it, but honestly, it's not a very cost-effective solution, and shouldn't be a problem that exists in the first place.

IMO, XP is very nice, and I will probably never migrate to Vista unless forced to under duress.
