I think it's just photographing poorly, and that it does look better in person, but it does have some weird wearablity problems that doensn't make it exceptionally flattering. However it is the most fun I've ever had sewing, so I think I'll focus on that.

I sympathize about the kittens. We have two safe places from kittens at the moment and one is just because they haven't tried to get up there yet.
