My feeling on buying instruments is that they should not be done on a whim, and without any explanation beyond just the poll question that is what this sounds like (although I know it may mean more for you). My reason for saying "no" is not because of the monetary cost, but because an instrument requires substantial commitment. If you had such commitment, would you need to ask the question? Unless you have played trumpet for a while already (I cannot remember all the instruments you have played), I might recommend borrowing or renting one for a while to see if you really enjoy it, and then deciding whether to buy. I am sure other people like simply collecting instruments, but that would not be my choice.
