Is that corelleware? I've heard they had that failure mode but I've never seen it. I guess it's because it's glass, not pottery. "Unbreakable" until it breaks, and then rather spontaneous and extreme.

yes, it is corelleware. I've heard that it can be a lot more dramatic than that, since process puts the whole dish under pressure.
