CBC and other things
Jun. 26th, 2005 08:20 pmI just watched an episode of the 2005 Doctor Who and I kind of liked it, in the bad, doctor who cheesey way. They've focused a lot more on character and emotion than I remember way back when I watched in the 80s. I like the new doctor and the actors seem to be competent. I think the cheese is on purpose. I really want to see more, but I'm not sure there is anyway to get it in the US as of yet. Hopefully someone will pick it up and I can start to watch it and see if it was just a fluke that I liked it.
Now I'm watching a comedy about curling called "Men with Brooms." It's not terribly good, but I kind of miss those odd things you just don't see in the states.
I'm finding just being surounded by the accent and the different sort of phrasing and vocabulary. I hadn't missed that in a long time.
I also like that WalMart was selling a nice big package of big firewords for $44 out front, but that's as much living in Mass. than living in the states.
They also have a main stream honey light lager that I wish I would have an opertunity to try, since I like honey beers, but it doesn't seem likely.
