I had one of the self check outs reboot on me today. My transction was almost completely finished. The guy said that the payment had gone through, but it was kind of startling. I wasn't surprised to find out they ran windows.

Similar thing happened to me at Safeway (supermarket) last night. They reboot their computers nightly at 11pm. They, too, use windows.

The consequence was it took like 20m to get out of the store.
