It is possible that ~my~ recent equipment failures are adding to your disappointment with the reliability of the things we buy, just becausee you shared in my experience. I understand expenses that came too soon, but remember that my well pump was working faithfully and frequently in a really nasty environment for at least 20 and maybe as much as 37 years or thereabouts, and my RA saw (which is working again) is 20 to 25 years old abd has been stored incorrectly. If your TV is 10, then it has served well and can be replaced without rancor, however the switch/relay might actually be something that can be fixed for a reasonable price. Sorry about the vacuum cleaner, especially since they seem to fail just when they are needed most.
