After having the battery drain again on the connect and having the trickle charger tell me the battery was bad, I decided to get a tire rotation, battery check, and brake inspection. The brakes had been giving me a little bit of a rumble and the last time I ignored that it got bad.

I took it to firestone, since they weren't horrible and was willing to fight with gervais ford over the phone for the c-max issue. I waited almost 2 hours, watching a parade of unhappy customers, workers, and boss, claims of incompetence, cars being held for 3 days. He told me I needed ~$1100 of brake work on a 12000 mile car. I told him I'd waited to long and just wanted to be home. He didn't charge me the ~$25 for the tire rotation.

I decided I wanted to get some other quotes. We phoned and emailed Ford, but they never got back to us. I phoned Midas, they basically said "you have to bring it in for a quote," he asked me if he could know the quote that Firestone gave me, I said, "I'd rather not," and then he got it out of me anyway, which annoyed me. I also had said in the intake form that I prefer email and he called me, so I wasn't very happy with midas, but I took the car in.

When I was actually in the store. if felt completely different. When they sent me the quote they also sent me photos of the brakes. It was also close enough I could walk home. The quote was basically the same price wise, so I decided to just get it done.

Both places said that the reason the brakes were bad this early is likely because I don't drive it enough. This means I need to find a way to drive it once a week I guess, since every two weeks wasn't cutting it.

At no point did anyone say the battery was bad, however.
