new year low and high

I started the year out feeling really horrible. Physically and mentally. I was feeling kind of like "what am I doing?" mixed with physically feeling unspecifically horrible. I even skipped TKD for the first week of the year. I slowly got my energy back as the week went on, but a mix of the low energy and the weather means that I've not gotten back on my running schedule yet.
Then I became obsessed with Baulder's Gate 3, which I mention not because I want to sing the praises of the game, but rather that the obsession has felt so good. IT's been energizing and joyful. It even has been making me feel like my brain is just working better. I feel like I can process information better and the daily puzzle I do is easier.
It is messing a bit with my sleep however. But not too badly and I think it's an overall win.
It feels completely different than when being obsessed with a project which has a lot of ups and downs as one fights with the problems that arise.
I have been having to do an interesting dance between seeking out more content and avoiding spoilers, since I have a group run (soon to be two group runs) that I don't want get ahead of. Luckily there is a ton of content in the game that is easy to miss on the first play through, just because situations and which characters in your party greatly change what voice lines and outcomes you see. I also have a duo game with G that is going completely off the rails, which is fun. I'm also super bad at battles, so a lot of the actual solo game play has been me reloading a lot.
