I did 20 minutes very very slow without stopping again today. Last year I did that (for the first time ever) on August 24th last year with a pace of 12:58 min/mile. Today's pace was 13:30 min/mile, so a much slower pace.

I loving having data. I wish I had the weather data for both runs too.

Will I be able to get back up to under 18 minutes for 1.5 miles? Really not sure at this point. I did it before, so I should be able to do it again, but the weather has not been making it easy to get out and run, so I've put in much less training at this point than I did last year.

Side note, I take my written instructor test tonight.

EDIT: Oh! garmin does record temperature, though it claims today was 84, which I don't think it was that high. It says last year it was 77. Also I think some of the time differences was errors in the GPS. The route is not that much longer if you actually line up the GPS data on the actual road.

If you're using a Garmin watch, you'll have <1% error. 5Ks usually show up as 3.14 instead of 3.11, but some of that is because I'm not perfectly running the tangents.

If you did a 13:30 continuous today, I have every confidence that, with continued training, you can eaaaasily crack out an 1.5-in-18 run when the temps and humidity drops.

84 'F with 50% humidity is 85.1 heat index.
84 'F with 75% humidity is 92.2 heat index.

So if the temps are mid-60s, schyeah, whatever. :)
