Winter's is charging us ~$1600 for the water heater replacement and installation. I think this is really way too high, but we're getting it done because they're here and they can do it today, but we're petty certain we need to find new plumbers for any future jobs.

We gave up on Winters because their prices seemed way too high (among some other
problems.)

We've used Demella Plumbing/Cambridge Plumbing (they merged, we had had a recommendation for Cambridge Plumbing originally) who has done a few reasonable jobs at a reasonable price, but we aren't ecstatic about them either.

That feels like a lot.

Sears does water heater installation, in the <week range. Home Depo does same day water heater installation. In both cases, you have to call them to find out how much it is. Their websites don't tell you.

I use Allen Plumbing because they do decent work and return
phone calls, but they also charge an arm-and-a-leg and seem
to want to do unnecessary work. I wonder if I should replace
my 10-year-old water heater before it fails...
