Appologising
Nov. 18th, 2007 10:53 amI'm sure I'm going to miss a bunch of meanings, so feel free to elaborate in comments. I also realize it really depends on context, who's saying it, etc. So try to just go for the "most commonly."

Date: 2007-11-19 02:44 am (UTC)"I realize my mistake"
"I understand my mistake affected you negatively"
"I regret my mistake and need to vocalize that."
It sometimes means:
"Please forgive the mistake, without further obligation"
"I will work to correct my mistake in the future"
"Please do not think less of me for my mistake"
If I'm *really* cranky and someone's blaming me for something that isn't my fault and/or being an ass, it means:
"An empty statement said because one is supposed to."
who, me, complex? nah...
