I got it to work perfect with WoW on greg's machine. I'm almost crying from happiness. It's working!!!

These are VR glasses? What kind of resolution do they provide? Is there a "wraparound" effect?

These are vr glasses. They're fairly low resolution 640 native, but will support 1024 with pixel interpelation. They only have a 32 degree field of view, so no wraparound, but they do have head tracking (which still needs some work) but that means you can turn your head left and right to look at things (they're working on getting up down working in WoW)

These are the ones I got: https://store.vuzix.com/store_VR920.php

There are higher resolution ones out there, with head tracking, but they tend to be >$1000.

They were actually better than I'd imagined, given the raw stats. It's a little hard to read text in them.

Hmm. That's pretty awesome, actually. I fly a lot so I'm wondering if I could plug them into my laptop, which I'm keeping under the seat, and watch videos off of that.

Definately, but there might be cheaper options if you don't care about head tracking and 3d stereo support.

On the other hand, those options aren't MUCH cheaper, so it might be worth it to just go all out.

They really were a pain and a half to get working, so I can't say I whole heartedly recommend them, but they do seem to be a nice piece of hardware. I would also warn that if your head is particually far from the norm, people have complained about having problems getting it to adjust comfortably.

I've seen them on google check out for <$350

3d with games only works with nvidia cards 7 series or older, XP and 32-processors. This is mostly nvidia's fault, but the company is working on making their own drivers to support more systems.

I think in another 2 years, there will be something really nice on the market, but as of now, don't expect wonders.

plus creepy hotel guy could no longer lock over your shoulder.

One thing I actually like about it is with out the optional light blocker, you can still see the world around you if you move your eyes down.
