Companies change perfectly good products so they're "new." People fear change, but they also need it. I have a good life, but I'm depressed tonight because it's the new year, and I have nothing to look forward too. I realized that this is one of the many reasons people have children. Children are years of things to look forward to: first step, first word, kindergarden, graduation, leaving home, wedding.

I never thought learning to love the life you have, the place you are now, would be so hard. I do not want to need change for the sake of change.

Anyway, just a weird observation.

I sympathize completely, and I'm even someone who's usually uncomfortable anticipating change (though usually fine with it once it's happened).

you have nothing to look forward too? or you think you have nothing to look forward to?

my mom had a saying -- "The world's too big & wide..." You fill in the rest.

My favorite is "The world's too big & wide to be bored."

There's always something else new & interesting happening. If you think you've found everything, go back to the beginning and start over -- i guarantee there'll be something new there.

I don't think I've found it all. But there is a big difference between knowing the world is rich and having something the look forward to. It's like being in the middle of a lake, treading water because you don't which direction to swim.
