I may be the only person in the Davis area excited about this, but I talked with the guy who is managing the new Subway sandwhich shop in the old Bertucci's building and he says he's jsut waiting on permits to open, everything else is ready and he thinks he'll be open next week.

Yay!!

Name one other place I can eat a satisfying, tasty meal out for under 350 calories?

I'm excited! I like good sandwiches sometimes. With *roast beef* and *pickles* and other traditional, non-hippy things. I hope that's what they will have! :)

They got roast beef and pickles at Christo's. Or Davis Square Subs. Or any of the generic blue collar places you can find speckling the landscape here.

Now, the fact is, they don't give any nutritional info at those places... But that's not your complaint, that's littleb's. ;-)

cristo's seven stars is the sub and pizza shop on elm next to the new tibetan place, across from the goodwill.

they make an ok generic sub.

...and Davis Square Subs is at Willow and Highland. I also like Theo's in Teele Square for subs.

I like the food but the way Subway smells (and they all smell the SAME) really turns my stomach.

Frankly, it's good that *anything* is happening in that space. The vacant storefront was a bit depressing.

I whole heartly agree with that as well. I don't understand the people who would rather have an empty store over a chain. Sure chains are bad, but it's been empty HOW LONG?
