I don't like high heels, and I think the high heels that look like a sneaker or high top are even worse than normal ones. So why do I like this new show that is one of those? They're comfortable too and don't feel like a heel to me. I didn't buy them, but I want to. It is probably be one of those cases (like those horrible red pants) where I think I like it, but my judgement is way off. They actualy look kind of 80s.

Well no matter, because I can't spend silly money this month anyway, but I still want them. I wish I had a picture of them so that I could get opinions.

On another note, after viewing pictures of me in my tan through suit, I think that I need more breast support in a suit and that I shouldn't wear that suit again, which is very very sad. One of the people there had a suit I loved and will try to track down, but after a bit of poking around on the web I can find nothing like it. (it was a two peice, where the bottom was form fitting shorts, which still looked like a bathing suit and the top had this bit of diagonal cloth that came down so it covered enough to make it not look like a bikini.)

edit: the shoes look kind of like this but black, with better styling and a thicker heel.

I think that one isn't as obviously "sneaker + high heels" as the ones I've seen, so it doesn't disturb me as much. Rather, it seems to evoke "stompy boots", because the sneakerishness is very practical and stompyish.

I wonder if instead of wanting the clubbing clothing, you are actually wanting the experiences you used have when you wore that kind of clothing. Maybe if you were to get out to the club occasionally, and have fun there, you would have less desire for the special attire.

If you want to play psychology, then I think it's more that I've always struggled iwth my self image and the fact that I can wear and feel good in sexy clothing is somethign that I can gain a little bit of satisfaction of out of. Little peices of ego boost. I'm also quite materialistic and having something to want to buy is part of my personality.

Those shoes you linked to are VERY 80's retro.

They don't do it for me, for what it's worth.

Sorry I didn't make it out there tonight...

(Oh... what brown suit?)

brown suit?

I think I can make the ones from payless be goth without being 80s, but maybe I'm deluting myself. I think it's mostly the heeled ankle boot that makes me think 80s.

brown suit?

Ah. Reading comprehension problems again...

tan (not brown) and that wasn't the color of the suit, but of the skin after wearing said (bathing) suit...

Never mind.

And yeah, I don't know what they're making these days, but heeled ankle boots are very 80s in my head...
