I tried to give blood today for the first time since '95, and failed the hematocrite with 33%, you need 38%. Disappointing, since I spend a long time waiting and answer the badly worded questions. I've always knows I was border line animic, so given circumstances, I'm not surprised or worried.

The normal range for women is 38% to 48%, so 33% is definitely low. That is probably not something to worry about, but you might want to ask your doctor about taking an iron supplement, especially if you have symptoms of anemia. I sometimes do not pass the iron test, and generally will feel easily fatigued when mine is below the cutoff. I feel much better (more energetic, more motivated, etc.) when my iron is closer to normal.
