I hate April Fool's day.

Just so you know.

Trust is such a delecate thing, why is there a day when we are supposed to pick at it, tear at it. And no, it doesn't always heal afterwards.

EDIT: I want to clarify. I don't think that all April fool jokes are evil. I think that the net sum is not worth the day. I think that any joke that is a good april foosl joke could be presented as "here is my fine joke." I don't like any joke that derives it's humor from "Ha! I fooled you." because I personally feel victimized, even if the statement being believed doesn't effect me at all. I don't like feeling that I have to mistrust everything that everyone says because of a stupid holiday. I don't being fooled. If April Fool's day were "April Joke writing day" then I would be all for it. But the focus is on fooling people, not amusing them.

I also don't like the fact that you can't say anything serious today and not have people think that it's an April Fools Joke.

The really GOOD jokes don't involve mistrust... like this one for example. (much better than the joke he pulled last year, which upset a lot of people)

True, that doesn't involve mistrust. I guess my biggest beef with today is many people don't think too hard about the reprocussions of their jokes. Many people think that their joke will be obvious and then derive great pleasure in teh people gullible enough to fall for it, when really, they should be honored the person trusts them that much.

You're right, there are exceptions. I just don't trust the majority of people who take advantage to have the majority and foresight to pick good jokes.

Sorry I'm a downer.

I find kidding very irritating. The Boy who Cried Wolf should be The Boy who Provided Inaccurate Data and was Investigated by Ethicists. (though, what would you do if someone yelled "Theater" in a crowded Fire?)
