taiko and voice

The Cambridge Center for Adult Education is having one session beginner's Taiko drumming course; it sounds like it will be intense. Three hours starting with pushups and situps. They still have openeings, I think, if you are interested.

I signed up for that and beginner's voice, but that's wait listed, so I might not get in.

Taiko drumming is amazingly physical. Have you ever seen it done? Imagine trying to beat the drums to death with the sticks.

I think that it is also approached very much like a martial art, complete with the vocalizations and mental discipline as well as the phsyical skills.

Well, I'll find out for sure on the 29th.

no never seen it. never even *heard* of it. the situp part caught my attention because i did like *3* situps at the gym and my back is in a wreck. *sigh* now doing something like taiko drumming would be my end, lol.
