Experimenting with colored pencils and markers.

Hoping a spot of color would make it pop, but it was too dark a red. Fancy chickens are hard to draw.

Maybe I need to hide the markers from myself

I think the color works well on the hummingbird. I agree that on the chicken the contrast between pencil & marker is a little too great, but it seems like it almost worked...

Fancy chickens are hard to believe, nevermind draw. :)

The red feels a little unbalanced, but I think that's because the red on the actual chicken isn't particularly balanced.
