dear book author...

It does not make your book more creative to set it in the future and use madeup future words if nothing in your plot requires it being set in the future and in fact the character doesn't like the new technology and keeps using old technology, older even than cell phones. It also isn't creative to ellude to a modern event, replacing some of the nouns with "future" words so that it's horrifically transparent and you didn't even need to ellude to that event at all to achieve your literary goal. It is also distinctly uncreative to make your "future" words by using the prefixes of "holo-" or "hover-."
