The phantom tollbooth, the musical.
Nov. 23rd, 2003 01:15 amI saw the phantom tollbooth the musical. I didn't remember the book terribly well. The preformance of milo (who was a younger actor) and tock were really good. In general it was as well done as something like that can be, but adaptating things as musicals always adds some cheese factor.
It also reminded me too much about the things that I've been depressed about all weekend.
It was pointed out to me that both the musical and the book encourage without lying as some children's things do. ("Some things you think are impossible are possible.") Which is much better than some children's things.
I also led me to ask. Why does milo have friends that keep asking him to go out and play if he has a history of never bothering to do it?
