If you remember I was completely infuriated with my old sewing machine. THe pedal was cranky and only owrked part of the time, it kept breaking it's thread and it took me a while to remember the correct threading path. I finally found the money to buy a new sewing machine and yesterday got a low end kenmore, since it seemed hte best machine for the small amount of money I could afford on it. It doesn't seem to have a lock stitch, but other than that it seems to be a reasonable machine. It even has button holing and comes with all the presser feet I was missing with my old machine (man a zipper foot would have been nice when I was extending the lacing on a pair of telos pants.)
Today I did my first project, wanting to get going on my halloween costume. So I now I have a
Dizzy Tail. I might redo the bow, since it isn't quite big enough. If you forget who Dizzy is, look at
this post.EDIT: So the sewing machine didn't have a stretch stich and my mother helped me realize that I really need that, so, because the sale was ending on saturday I unwound all my bobbins, packed the machine back up, rushed back, braved Saturday crowds and exchanged it for the next model up.
