It would require about as much discipline as the chained multi-outlets folks are using already. I have 18 things plugged in next to my bed (with the expanders in under my headboard), but fortunately most of them only take a dribble and I can still run my vacuum cleaner and overhead lights without blowing the 15 amp breaker. I would really like a built in panel instead of the muddle of expanders, but the main mess is the cords themselves. This whole wall thing means the cords can be stretched out by choosing the outlet at the right height. But do you see the real flaw?
All those cords are clean, pretty straight, about the same thickness, and have the same arc where they plug in. They look tidy. Real cords are all different colours, dirty, kinked, different thicknesses, have different plugs, would have different arcs where they plug in, would tempt pets with climbing opportunities, and would be a cleaning nightmare. That wall looks tidy. A real wall would look like nest building from a rodent infestation.
How about secret panels in the floor each with a bin for all the extra wire, wall-warts, and the like, lined with outlets, and a comb edge to let the wires out while controlling them?
