off the mark

Anyone want to give me bowing lessons 101? I'm afraid that I've missed some important dos and do nots and I'd rather not learn bad habits to unlearn later. I'm guessing I'd just need an hour of Q, A and examples to just start me on the right path.

Oh, I bet you mean bowing as in using a bow, not bowing as in bending at the middle in appropriate social settings.

(If you do mean the latter, what are you up to?)

Hmm, I expect that there are people who'd be better for that than I(*), but if they don't volunteer I'd be happy to try to be useful.

i'd be happy to help, but if you do find an actual cellist, that would be better, since it's pretty different...

Since I still do not have a cello, it would be more than fine.

I really just want very very basic things like "These are the best times to change directions" and "this is how you make it not sound like you're playing with a coping saw."

Oh and if we can find a good time for you and me, I would be honored to get pointers from you.

Bend at the waist. Allow yourself to look at the floor. Don't buy that bit from martial arts movies about watching your opponent.

In a more casual setting, nodding will do.
