Impressed with something about sony

so the box that sony sent me for me to send them my laptop was quite impressive. It had two clear stretchy panels that became taught when you folded the cardboard correctly. The cardboard gave a little to cradle my laptop (and probably any laptop with in a certain range of sizes. When the box was finally forced closed (part of the process), the laptop was suspended between these two clear stretch peices of plastice, with carboard bearing most of the weight. Very nice packaging.

It's too bad that they apparently put more thought into the design of the box than that of the machine.

Well they probably out sourced the design of the box. :)

I noticed that when I sent my Vaio in for servicing about 4 years ago. It's extremely clever. I think it may be FedEx that provides the packaging... the 'business clever' side of things is that that box didn't have to come from Sony. It got drop-shipped to you by FedEx.
