mead update
I emailed Julio's liquor and got the following response:
Unfortunately, Moniack Mead is not available through our distributors in Massachusetts. I did some digging and could not find any information about Moniack’s availability in the rest of the u.s. either. I did find a Mead Forum that mentioned someone having Moniack shipped to the U.S. via Canada, that was the best tidbit of information I could find. It sounds like a unique product as it is made entirely of Heather Honey and mead has become more popular of late, so I’m surprised there isn’t a U.S. importer. Best of luck on the mead quest and if you have questions about other Mead producers, don’t hesitate to ask.
So my one bottle is it until I go back to Canada which I have no plans to do anytime soon.

If you're interested in exploring other meads, Hopster's Alley has a good selection, but I don't know if they have tastings.
And if you do find a US-based source, please post it; I'm curious about this stuff now.
