When I got an MRI, I asked them for the records. They gave me a CD-ROM with some random stuff.

In the process of trying to figure out how to read it on my Mac, I downloaded OsiriX, and after poking at the various UI widgets for ten minutes or so, I was doing a fly-through of a 3D reconstruction of my torso, and could rotate, pan, and zoom the model just by moving the mouse.

I have no idea if there's anything like that for Windows, but you might look around. Not only does it help you understand how the images mesh together to form solids, it's simply pretty freaking awesome to see.
