This is the same hubris as programmers who think that their app is the most important thing in your whole life so they take over your machine, run full screen, bind program types, "help" you by forcing their idea of how to organize your data, put shortcuts where you don't want them, run on startup, insert unwanted updaters, and contribute to your bloatware pool. In my opinion, if someone is too stupid to operate their wipers after wetting the windshield, when appropriate, they shouldn't be behind the wheel. Possibly it is a method to purposely scratch the unlubricated glass to get you to buy a new windshield more often. As for the A/C coming on, I recommend you complain to your dealer that your car has a defect and have them "fix" it under warranty. If it costs them something, it might get the design reviewed.
